In the last two weeks I have received a couple of really nice, inexpensive knives from Bladeplay, and I recommend both heartily.
One is an assisted-opening pocket-sized knife, the "Exploit IV", and it is of VERY good quality! Good steel, great action and tight lockup, and an extremely comfortable textured grip. This makes a great every-day-carry workhorse knife for a very reasonable price.
The second is a real intmidator, the Boker Magnum "Great Knight" manual opening fighting knife. It is HUGE, but very light. It is well textured, with a very smooth opening action via the blade-guard "flipper". Once partly opened it can easily be flicked open with a wrist snap, for a very solid lockup.
Both of these knives are much better than the website photos indicate, and deserve your attention..........................elsullo |

Nope . You don't need much force or to push the flipper too far . The few I've experimented with were surprisingly easy to use . In fact , I prefer to use the flipper over the thumb studs . And , no, there's no need to use flick or twist your wrist . Try one . They're pretty fascinating .

I just dropped in to find this message. Yes, the flipper is limited but it has plenty of room to activate the spring opening of the blade and it works very well. No wrist flip is necessary as the spring is strong. Myself, I am left handed and never use the blade thumb studs, so I only buy knives with flippers anymore. The kewl thing is that these spring-assist knives are perfectly legal almost everywhere.
Alas, viewing these links shows again that the photos are really inadequite to show the nice textures of the knife scales. I wish Cam would take seriously my assertion that the photography could EASILY be much better! He might sell more knives if the photos removed possible questions that the potential buyers might have. On the internet you only get a couple of seconds to catch a buyer's eye.........................elsullo |
