I just wanted to speak my nostalgic mind about the late 70's- early 80's heavy pinned frame NM & SAs. I totally ignore the cheesy remakes with thin strips of bent metal for locking tabs. But the originals in this frame design have always intrigued me. Nice quality feeling flush plastic handle inserts with sharp textures, and a very italian trap door flair. The mechanisms are much beefier, with thick, pivoted locking levers. Right alongside the Rizzutos, I think they have a very addictive and impressive energy. But of course dead mint/unused is the only way to buy them. I would say one oldie weighs about as much as 2 to 2 1/2 of the checker textured newer ones.

Here's the few I've collected, anyone remember these?...

I have one of the "super automatics" that I picked up in Ciudad Juarez in 1994. That brings back memories!

I know what you mean Cool No matter where my collective tastes go, I can never pass up on a nice, older one, they are a total nostalgia trip. Here's a couple I picked up recently that I believe are a bit older than the 3 pictured above. Much nicer finished mirror blades with pointy tips and smoother action. Don't know much about the red one, other than it was intended for German market. The black one was originally purchased in Mexico in the mid-70's and stored away for years. It was never taken out of the box until I took this picture.
